The Family Violence Prevention Program (FVP) offers individual and group support to those experiencing or have experienced a controlling and abusive relationship. Those seeking assistance can receive ongoing personal support.

Through our experience of supporting women, the program has developed four stages of women's groups which empower women to put their safety first, work towards healing and learn to choose healthy relationships. The support may include education, safety planning and options available to make informed decisions. Referrals to other community services, including housing, financial, therapeutic counselling and legal support, are made available.

Our Public Educator also provides information to schools and community groups in Woolwich Township and the north part of Wellesley Township. Three lessons are taught to each class in each school in an age-appropriate way yearly. Topics include conflict resolution, preventing harassment, emotions, healthy relationships, peer pressure etc.

If you or someone you know requires assistance, please contact WCS between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Our address is 5 Memorial Ave, Elmira ON, N3B 2P8, and our number is (519) 669-5139.

If you call after hours and are in crisis, please contact a Women's Crisis Services representative at (519) 742-5894 or the Crisis Line at (519) 745 1166.
