Title:  Youth Worker – Summer Position


Purpose: In conjunction with the Youth Coordinator promote, implement and evaluate activities to meet the needs of aged grade 6 up to 18 years.


  • To provide a safe and positive environment for youth

  • To assist in the planning and implementation of suitable daily program opportunities

  • To assist in the promotion of the Centre through social media etc.

  • To ensure youth become involved in the planning of activities

  • To plan and complete activities, getting youth involved in all aspects

  • To create a friendly, welcoming environment

  • To complete activity calendars, daily participation and evaluation forms

  • To supervise the participants to ensure their safety and the safety of others

  • To clean and change the set up of the Centre as required

  • To be an active participant in fund raising efforts

  • To communicate effectively with Youth Coordinator new or changed information, and/or gaps in service

  • To be an active member of the Woolwich Community Services team

  • To review the program and provide input into the evaluation of the program using the data collected daily



  • Enthusiastic and friendly personality with the ability to relate to youth

  • Excellent communication, computer and organizational skills

  • Interested in pursuing a career in Social Services or Youth related studies


Job Details:

  • 31 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday (Youth Centre is open 1-10pm)

  • Start July 2nd – August 30th (9 weeks)

  • $14.00 per hour

Title:  Event Planner (Student)   


Purpose: To act as a support person to WCS staff as required insuring programs are maintained and enhanced over the summer months.


  • To be an active member of the Woolwich Community Services team

    • To complete projects as assigned over the summer months with direction from Community Resources Coordinator.  

    • Create/update databases.

    • To assist with organization of the annual golf tournament in support of Family Violence Prevention program.  

    • To solicit prizes from local businesses to support the golf tournament.

    • To coordinate the Back Pack Program – request letters, participant letters, purchasing articles, distribution.

    • Marketing/promotion of Thrift Shop including sidewalk sale

    • Community barbeque in support of Youth Centre.

    • Office reception and support of persons seeking assistance.

    • To act as sales support at WCS Thrift Shop.

    • To begin the startup of the Bowl-a-thon in fall of 2018.

    • Other duties that may be assigned.

    • Social media campaign.


    • Enthusiastic and friendly personality.

    • Excellent communication, computer and organizational skills.

    • Sales background an asset.

    • Knowledge of local community

    • Use of a car.               

    • Responsible to the Community Resource Coordinator.

Title:  Retail Sales Specialist


Purpose: Customer service oriented person with the ability to work with volunteers. Must be pleasant, honest, enjoy people. Duties include sorting, pricing, creating displays, and general store appearance. 

Some heavy lifting required.





  • Assist customers in finding articles

  • Be aware of customers' needs and identify areas in the store that

  • Can be improved to meet those needs

  • Give out credit slips on returned items

  • Assist in promotion of the store

  • Ensure that store is open for business, doors open, lights on, sign turned.

  • Sort, price and hang good quality used clothing.

  • Box and store off season clothing.

  • Dispose of unusable clothing and household articles.

  • Maintain order and neatness in store daily - mop floor, tidy displays, pick-up clothing off floor.

  • Maintain appearance of window.

  • Remove past dated items and bag them.

  • Design and set-up displays.

  • Record all sales through the cash register.

  • Record daily sales on forms, complete deposit book and deposit day's receipts in bank.


  • Must be between the age of 15 to 30. 

  • No experience is required


Job Details: 

  • 35 hours work per week (for 8 weeks)

  • Start July 8, 2019 - August 31, 2019

  • $14.00 per hour
