Title:                     Summer Event Assistant

Woolwich Community Services (WCS) has a fulfilling Summer Student opportunity supporting all residents living in Woolwich Township and the immediate surrounding area. WCS offers a supportive, positive work environment that encourages impactful work supporting people where they are in their lives. In this position, you will enjoy having input on program development for social inclusion and community events while being mentored and learning new skillsets to meet the responsibilities listed below.


Purpose:              To support WCS staff in securing prizes and promoting summer fundraising, community events and WCS programs



  • Assist with the implementation of social  inclusion programs/events at the Community Hub

  • To assist with the organization of the annual golf tournament in support of the Family Violence Prevention Program

  • To make requests to local businesses for prizes and support for golf tournament

  • Provide reception and customer service duties

  • Plan and Implement community barbeque in support of the Community Hub

  • To assist with the coordination of the Back Pack program

  • Marketing/promotion of Thrift Shop, including sidewalk sale

  • Update community database

  • To be an active member of the Woolwich Community Services team

  • To complete projects as assigned over the summer months with direction from Community Engagement Coordinator



  • Must be a student or have career goals in a program related to marketing, event planning or fundraising

  • Enthusiastic and friendly personality

  • Excellent communication, computer and organizational skills

  • Sales background is an asset

  • Knowledge of local community

  • Use of a car


Time Commitment:

  • 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, ten weeks

  • Start June 27, 2022, for September 2, 2022

  •  $15.00 per hour
